It's part of Apple's initiatives to basically save the planet. The company is focused on environmental initiatives, including powering all its facilities with 100% renewable energy.
Apple and other tech firms often come under fire for using materials that are detrimental to the environment to mine, yet often end up in landfills once people are done with their phones.
Liam, though one machine, aims to help give materials like tungsten new life. The machine takes out components of the iPhone with tongs, then turns those materials over to be used again.
